FAQ-1051 Call Capture Utility Parameter Settings

ANSWER

By Default, the Call Capture Utility closes off a file each 24 hours at the time you specify in the startup line. There are other settings that you can put on the target line of the icon you use to start the utility that will cause it to close at different times of day. Your options are:

SHORTCUT TARGET LINE

SETTING DESCRIPTION

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE

[default] The utility will close down every 24 hours at the time specified when the utility starts

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE HOURLY

The utility will close and save a file every hour on the hour.

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE TEST

Test the log email notification feature

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE ALL

Tells the utility to record the full ASCII Character Set and not to filter out control characters and escape sequences. This is required for some phone systems that send additional non-readable characters embedded in their call records.

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE 500

The utility will close each time that 500 call records are captured

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE 250

The utility will close each time that 250 call records are captured

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE 100

The utility will close each time that 100 call records are captured.

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE 50

The utility will close each time that 50 call records are captured.

C:\CA20XX\LOG_SERIAL\CA_TERM.EXE TIME99:99

The utility will close down at the specified military hour and minute specified.

NOTE: Make sure that you don’t have your system set to close more than 99 call logs each day or you may lose data because of the log naming structure. For example, if you are capturing 25,000 calls per day, DO NOT use the 50, 100, 250, or 500 settings because it will close too many logs each day and you will run out of available file names.
