FAQ-1137 How To Globally Force All Prefixes To Local

ANSWER:

Yes there are global toolbox commands that you can use to make global changes to the local tables. Here’s what you do:

For example, if you wanted to force all prefixes in 508 to local you would:

  1. Close all programs
  2. Select the TOOLBOX utility from the Comm One Software Folder
  3. At the ToolBox prompt type these toolbox commands:

CLOSE DATABASES
SELECT 0
USE PLM_AC.DBF
REPLACE ALL plm_ac.localarea WITH ‘Y’ FOR plm_ac.npa = ‘508’
CLOSE DATABASES
QUIT

This would change all of them so you didn’t have to do them one at a time.
